Penis Extenders: Stretching the Truth
For many men, the length of their penis has long been associated with the degree of their masculinity; that is, the longer the penis, the more of a man you are. Small wonder then, that there are so many products that promise to be able to increase natural penis length. Whether it’s by pill, exercise, diet, or whatever miracle device, all these devices and methods promise the same thing: you’ll have a longer penis, and you won’t feel sexually inadequate anymore.
According to a study published by Kevan Wylie, a professor from the University of Sheffield, there is a large percentage of men who are unhappy with the length of the penis. The study was conducted online, with more than 50,000 men participating in it. The results showed that more than 45% of the men wanted a longer penis. Thus, it’s easy to see why there is a booming market for products and methods that could promise men a longer penis.
In the past, there have been many different ways to extend the penis that have become popular, such as vacuum devices and penis lengthening exercises. However, based on studies, men who have used vacuum devices have gained no significant and permanent change to either their penis length or girth, while penis-lengthening exercises have no scientific evidence showing their effectiveness.
However, don’t give up hope just yet! If you’re a man who wants to buff up their package just a little bit more, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, and it’s called the Andropenis. In 2002, the International Journal of Impotence Research released a small study that showed the Andropenis as a possible penis extender that would be safe and effective for public use. According to the study, men who used the device for at least six hours per day were able to add almost 1 inch to their penis after four months use. There’s also a study published by the Journal of Sexual Medicine as recently as 2010, where a product called the Golden Erect Extender also showed promise as a possible penis extender.
While this treatment was first made for men who suffered from “micro” penises (penises which are less than 1.5 inches when flaccid, and less than 3 inches when erect), this is also a boon for men who suffer from dysmorphophobia. This is a psychological condition where people suffering from it see an imaginary flaw as a real one, which is often the case for men who feel that their penis is too small. This kind of penis inadequacy is one the rise simply because society tells us that men – real men- are those who have huge penises, and those who do not fit this bill should not be called “real men”.
Men who do not experience any physical problems during sex, whether physical or psychological, suddenly feel pressured about the size of their penis. According to Nicola Mondiana, a urologist from the University of Turin, this trend is increasing.
Penis enhancement market is booming and there are lot of products out there, all claiming to be the “the one” you need. We will be looking more closely into the most popular penis extenders and evaluate which ones are worth their price and which ones are just scams.
